I was introduced to watercolour in Melinda Calway’s class which I joined upon retirement. Ten years later, I’m still working on a technique which will become my signature. Viewing the techniques of a variety of artists hosted by The Art Guild of Scarborough, or Banbury Art Club or taking classes offered byMargaret Roseman or Chrissie and David Wysotski have afforded opportunities to try new approaches. All this to say my art is evolving. I hope to add Plein Air to my repertoire.
The rigour of having one’s art juried for exhibition as well hearing the critiques from a juror or one’s teacher is an important aspect of my evolution. I continue to paint subjects that are of interest and when visiting an art exhibition, I seek out the watercolours on display to see what else I can learn.
Family members and friends have copies of my art which can be found in Ontario, Quebec, New York, England and China.
I do hope that audiences will continue to support and enjoy the exhibitions hosted by the Art Guild of Scarborough.
