For Doris, art, and creativity in general, has been a life-long therapeutic pursuit, helping her to deal with life’s unpredictable vagaries and stresses. She began her painting journey in high school, winning ribbons in several art exhibitions. As an older adult, Doris resumed painting with a few local art courses and workshops. She continues to expand and evolve her creativity and artistic accomplishments with countless hours of painting.

Doris is the winner of “The 2024 Town of Ajax CreateABILITY Art Contest” and has had work accepted into the Scugog Arts & the Station Gallery annual juried art shows.

She works in both acrylic and watercolour, enjoying the varied intrinsic advantages of both mediums.

Doris enjoys exploring new styles and subject matter, never feeling the need to paint with just one method or approach.

At local arts shows, community displays and by commissions, Doris has sold more than 70 paintings.
