Tranquility

Tranquility, 9 3/4 x 12 Mixed Media on Paper

Art has been a big part of Judy’s life since early childhood.  Her father was an artist as were many family friends. Art, music and literature were always topics of conversation around the dinner table. By the time she was a teenager,  she knew she wanted to teach art and considers herself fortunate to have done so for 30, rewarding  years.

During those years, Judy would paint for her own pleasure only during the summer months – often at the family cottage on Mazinaw Lake.

While acrylic was her medium of choice for many years, since retirement Judy has also taken an interest in watercolour and mixed media.

Judy’s  work reflects her love of nature, colour and light. Most of her works are of places, people or subjects she knows well – both urban and rural.

Judy continues  to paint  from her home in the Guildwood area of Scarborough.
