Margaret Jamieson

Margaret Jamieson graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design. As a professional she taught art in the Scarborough Board of Education and at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario.
Her art was a natural outlet for her passion for nature. Whether travelling through the Muskoka and Haliburton areas or through Algonquin Park and Killarney, Margaret was inspired by the geological formations, water, trees, and seasons.
Margaret is a member of the Art Guild of Scarborough and has won many Awards of Merit. She has won the 1981 Arthur Award for Oil Painting, Best in Show. In 2002 she won the ECOAA Dora Purdon Award for Best Oil in Lindsay, Ontario. She has been awarded prizes from the Huronia Festival, the Huronia Grape and Wine Festival and the Niagara on the Lake Art Show.
Margaret has shown her work throughout Ontario including in Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Markham, Bracebridge, Aurora, Algonquin Park, and Burlington. Her paintings have been purchased by both private and corporate collectors.
