Summer Memories, 18 x 24 Oil
Dad, 10 x 8 Acrylic
Mary Gazmin is a Scarborough resident, and has been a Scarborough Art Guild member since 2018. Mary had a passion for art since she was a young child – she wanted to be a book illustrator since grade one when she listened to the librarian read to her class. Mary won the art award and scholarship at Notre Dame High School in grade 12 and at East York Collegiate in grade 13. She went on to study Graphic Design at George Brown College.
Her greatest inspiration and love for nature came from the years she spent living on a farm in Baltimore, Ontario. She is inspired by artist Robert Bateman. Mary enjoys nature down to its smallest creatures and she still hopes to illustrate a book one day!
Today, she works as a Graphic Designer and designed the 60th anniversary logo for the Scarborough Art Guild. She has recently started to paint again, thanks to wonderful class demonstrations held by the Art Guild.
Summer Memories: oil painting depicting simple discoveries in nature and quiet moments.
Dad: acrylic painting depicting the things in life my dad enjoyed. He loved nature walks and pointing out things growing on the forest floor.
