Endangered Animals, 16 x 12 Acrylic on Canvas

I am Prashant, a self-taught artist living in Toronto. I believe that art is a form of expression. Every artist has a form of expressing and I love to express through sketches, painting and poetry. I love getting my inspiration from nature and life events.

Growing up, our parents did not get us access to any television. That helped me get to reading, writing and doing art. It took me into a world of imagination and drew from within me skills I never expected to have. It was my outlet to freely express things I wasn’t able to communicate. I was fortunate enough to develop my craft through videos on YouTube, Instagram and other online sources. Coming from Hyderabad, India; I was exposed to rich culture and various forms of art from modern art to ancient art. I picked up things that inspired me and things that helped me express myself better.

Soon, museums, monuments and art galleries became my favorite places to visit. To see artists of different kinds express their story or show affection in the most unique ways amazed me. I was filled with ideas to write or paint. I think architecture is art magnified. Every building speaks a different story. Every painting records a time in history and its events.

Few of my favorite artists growing up were Raja Ravi Varma and M. F. Husain. I may not be able to do art as well as they do, but one day I hope I get to embrace art more to create history and represent the times we live in. But for now, my life is happening enough to create content that can fuel the artist in me.
