On Scarborough Bluffs

On Scarborough Bluffs, 24 x 32 Oil on Canvas

Saba was born as an artist. At the age when most kids play with toys she used to play with Pen and papers and try to make unknown faces. She made her first painting when she was 8 years old. Most of her art work is based on what she feels and senses around her.

As an artist she works hard and chooses colors to develop paintings that represent nature, culture and humanity. She loves painting portraits and birds. Iqbal Mehdi was her first teacher and her colleagues called her his true subordinate.

Saba has a Bachelor in Fine Art and a 4 year diploma in Fine Arts.

Saba’s paintings have received first prize and best painting awards. One of her paintings recently received an Achievement award from the Portrait Society of Canada. She introduced a new technique and merged Pen & Ink with Oil and received the Sadiqan Award for best painting of the year. In a juried show with The Art Guild of Scarborough, one of her paintings (Moonlight) was awarded the best painting of the show.

Saba has more than 17 years experience with Pen & Ink drawing and fine arts. She used to work for two bi-weekly magazines, she participated in multiple exhibitions and worked for art galleries. Her Group Exhibitions include exhibits with the Art Guild of Scarborough, the Birkdale Art in the Park, and Art Square in Toronto. Her work has been accepted at juried shows in Scarborough, Niagara Falls, and the University of Toronto. Saba has participated in an art and culture exhibit for Islamic heritage month, an immigration art exhibit for Newcomer marketplace, and for a new life wellness exhibit.
